The Skate to the Max CIC was founded in memory of Max Hamilton, a passionate skateboarder and art student who tragically lost his life in a skateboarding accident. Max created a skateboard deck press and produced skate-inspired artwork and merchandise. In honour of his legacy, we have taken up the task of sharing this unique skill through deck-pressing workshops for young people.

Tracey Swan, the manager director of the CIC, along with trained professional coaches and facilitators, will oversee the program and evaluate its success based on measurable outcomes. This initiative aims to prepare over 100 young people for safe skateboarding, skateboard deck pressing, and designing. The ultimate goal is to reduce the number of skateboard-related accidents by promoting safe skateboarding practices.

With funding support, we can honour Max's legacy by creating a safer environment for young people to learn and enjoy skateboarding. We believe this initiative will impart valuable skills and encourage young individuals to stay active, participate in a community, and support their mental well-being.
